Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

FireForge respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use FireForge, how we use it, when we share it with service providers, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you.

FireForge is a platform for creating, developing, publishing, discovering, and experiencing written and audio fiction and other creative works. Because the platform involves user accounts, creative content, AI-powered tools, publishing features, payments, and communications, we may process different categories of information depending on how you use FireForge.

By using FireForge, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1

We use this information primarily to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve FireForge.

Payments and transactions

If you purchase a subscription, credits, products, or other paid services, payment information is processed by our payment providers. FireForge does not store your full payment-card number or card security code.

Depending on how you access FireForge, payments may be processed by providers such as Paystack, Apple, or Google. These providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies.

We may receive limited transaction information, such as:

  • Payment status
  • Transaction reference
  • Amount and currency
  • Product or subscription purchased
  • Payment date
  • Refund or chargeback status

Creator and payout information

If FireForge provides creator monetisation, publishing revenue, royalties, or payout functionality, we may collect information necessary to administer those services. This may include payment-account information, tax or business information, payout records, and information required to comply with financial, tax, anti-fraud, or legal obligations.

Where a third-party payment or payout provider handles sensitive financial information, that provider may process the information directly under its own privacy terms.

4

How AI features use your information

FireForge provides AI-powered features that may include writing assistance, editorial tools, translation, narration, image generation, and other creative functionality. When you choose to use an AI feature, the information required to perform that feature may be sent to the third-party AI provider responsible for that functionality.

For example:

  • Anthropic may process information submitted to FireForge AI editorial or writing tools.
  • OpenAI may process content submitted for chapter narration, text-to-speech, translation, or other enabled OpenAI-powered functionality.
  • fal.ai may process prompts or related information required to generate AI artwork or covers.

AI processing occurs because you have chosen to use the relevant feature. We do not send your private creative work to an AI provider merely because you have a FireForge account — AI processing occurs when a feature requires it or where otherwise disclosed to you.

Different AI providers may have different data-handling practices and retention policies. FireForge uses these providers as service providers for the functionality they deliver, and their processing may also be governed by their applicable contractual terms and privacy documentation.

For more information about how FireForge's AI features work, see our AI & Content Policy.

Your responsibility when using AI features

You should not submit confidential information, sensitive personal information, or information belonging to another person to an AI feature unless you have the appropriate rights and authorization to do so. You should also review the output of AI-powered features before publishing, distributing, or relying on it.

FireForge may use service providers located in countries other than the country where you live. As a result, your information may be processed or stored internationally.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will use appropriate legal and contractual mechanisms designed to protect that information.

10

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include:

  • Authentication and access controls
  • Encryption where appropriate
  • Secure transmission protocols
  • Password hashing
  • Monitoring and logging
  • Security controls around infrastructure
  • Abuse and fraud detection
  • Administrative access restrictions

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for protecting your account credentials and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

11

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide FireForge, maintain your account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and protect the security of the service.

Where information is retained for legal, accounting, security, or similar purposes, we restrict its use to those purposes. We may retain anonymized or aggregated information after account deletion where it can no longer reasonably be used to identify you.

Certain financial, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal records may need to be retained for longer periods, including periods required by applicable law.
