AI & Content Policy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
FireForge uses artificial intelligence to help writers and creators develop, refine, translate, illustrate, and experience their work.
This policy explains how FireForge's AI-powered features work, what happens to content submitted to those features, how AI-assisted work is treated, and what uses are not permitted.
This policy applies to AI features available through FireForge, whether the resulting work remains a private draft, is exported, or is eventually published to FictionFlux.
This policy forms part of the FireForge Terms of Service and should be read together with our Privacy Policy and other applicable FireForge policies.
What FireForge AI tools do
FireForge's AI features are designed to assist creators rather than replace their creative ownership or decision-making.
Depending on the features available on your account, FireForge AI may help you:
- Develop and refine story premises;
- Generate or improve synopses;
- Analyze chapters;
- Evaluate pacing;
- Identify potential cliffhangers;
- Review grammar and style;
- Generate writing suggestions;
- Translate chapters;
- Convert chapters into narrated audio;
- Generate cover artwork;
- Perform other creative or editorial tasks introduced by FireForge.
Editorial and writing tools
Features such as Premise Refiner, Synopsis Generator, Chapter Analysis, Cliffhanger Analyzer, Pacing Analyzer, Grammar & Style, and Writing Suggestions may analyze the content you provide and return feedback, suggestions, scores, or generated text.
These features may be powered by third-party AI models, including models provided by Anthropic and OpenAI.
Chapter Narration
Chapter Narration converts eligible written content into spoken audio using a voice selected from the FireForge Voice Library.
Narration may be powered by OpenAI text-to-speech technology or another provider designated by FireForge.
Cover Studio
Cover Studio generates artwork based on prompts, creative instructions, and other inputs you provide.
Cover generation may be powered by fal.ai and FLUX image models or other image-generation technology used by FireForge.
Translation
FireForge may use AI to translate published or eligible unpublished chapters into additional languages.
Translated content may require human review. FireForge does not guarantee that an AI translation will preserve every nuance, cultural reference, idiom, tone, or meaning of the original.
Human choice remains important
AI results are suggestions or generated outputs. You decide whether to:
- Accept them;
- Reject them;
- Edit them;
- Regenerate them;
- Publish them;
- Export them;
- Use them outside FireForge.
FireForge does not automatically publish AI-generated results to FictionFlux without the applicable user action or authorization required by the relevant publishing workflow.
AI inputs and outputs
When you use an AI feature, information you provide to that feature may be processed to generate the requested result.
AI input
"AI Input" means information submitted to an AI feature, which may include:
- Story premises;
- Chapter text;
- Manuscripts;
- Prompts;
- Writing samples;
- Editing instructions;
- Translation requests;
- Narration text;
- Image-generation instructions;
- Other information required to perform the selected AI function.
AI output
"AI Output" means the result generated by an AI feature, including:
- Suggestions;
- Editorial feedback;
- Generated text;
- Summaries;
- Translations;
- Narration;
- Images;
- Other generated material.
AI Input may contain Your Content as defined in the FireForge Terms of Service.
FireForge processes AI Input only as reasonably necessary to provide the feature you request, operate and secure the platform, enforce our policies, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Who owns AI-assisted work
You retain ownership of the original creative work you bring to FireForge.
Using an AI feature does not transfer ownership of your manuscript or other original Content to FireForge.
FireForge also does not claim ownership of AI-generated suggestions, narration, translations, or artwork merely because they were generated through your account.
However, ownership and copyright protection of AI-generated material can vary significantly by jurisdiction.
In some circumstances, purely AI-generated material may not receive copyright protection, while human creative contributions, selection, arrangement, editing, or transformation may receive protection depending on applicable law.
FireForge does not guarantee that AI Output is copyrightable, exclusively owned by you, or legally protectable in any particular jurisdiction.
You are responsible for determining whether and how you can legally use AI Output.
Similar outputs
AI systems may generate similar or identical results for different users, particularly where prompts or subject matter are similar.
Your use of FireForge does not give you exclusive rights to every AI Output that resembles something generated for another user.
AI credits and usage
FireForge may use an AI-credit system to measure access to AI-powered features.
Depending on your plan or account, you may receive a defined number of AI credits or other usage allowance.
AI credit consumption
Different AI features may consume different amounts of credits based on factors such as:
- The type of AI operation;
- Input length;
- Output length;
- Processing requirements;
- Image-generation parameters;
- Narration duration;
- Translation volume;
- Third-party provider costs.
The credit cost displayed by FireForge at the time you use a feature is the applicable cost for that operation, subject to technical corrections or clearly communicated changes.
Failed generations
Where technically feasible, FireForge may restore credits for failed requests caused by a FireForge or provider-side technical failure.
Credits may not necessarily be restored where a request successfully completes but you decide that you do not like or want the resulting output.
Abuse of AI credits
You may not manipulate, automate, exploit, or otherwise abuse FireForge's AI-credit system.
Attempts to circumvent usage limits, create fraudulent accounts, exploit generation errors, or obtain AI processing without authorization may result in restriction or termination of AI access or your account.
Content ratings
FireForge may provide content ratings for stories published or made available through FictionFlux.
Current rating categories may include:
- General
- Teen
- Mature
- Explicit
Authors are responsible for selecting an accurate rating for their work where FireForge requires one.
The rating should reflect the actual content of the work, including material introduced through:
- AI-assisted writing;
- AI-generated images;
- AI-generated narration;
- AI-assisted translation;
- Other AI-assisted features.
Using AI does not change your responsibility for the final work.
Deliberately assigning an inaccurate rating to obtain greater visibility or access to a broader audience may violate the FireForge Terms of Service.
Prohibited AI uses
You may not use FireForge AI tools to generate, transform, facilitate, or distribute content that violates applicable law or FireForge's policies. The following uses are prohibited.
Sexual content involving minors
You may not use FireForge AI to generate or facilitate:
- Child sexual abuse material;
- Sexual content involving minors;
- Sexualized depictions of characters represented as minors;
- Attempts to disguise or circumvent these restrictions.
This prohibition applies regardless of whether the requested material is fictional, realistic, illustrated, written, narrated, or otherwise generated.
Non-consensual sexual content involving real people
You may not use FireForge AI to generate sexualized deepfakes or other non-consensual sexual content depicting a real, identifiable person.
Infringing or deceptive content
You may not use FireForge AI to intentionally generate or facilitate material that:
- Infringes another person's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights;
- Misappropriates another person's identity or likeness;
- Impersonates a real person deceptively;
- Attempts to pass another person's work off as your own;
- Intentionally reproduces or plagiarizes another author's published work.
Targeted abuse and violent wrongdoing
You may not use FireForge AI to generate content that:
- Threatens real people;
- Encourages serious violence against real people or groups;
- Facilitates violent criminal activity;
- Promotes terrorism or violent extremist activity;
- Is intended to facilitate serious real-world harm.
Spam and platform manipulation
You may not use FireForge AI to:
- Mass-generate low-effort works to manipulate FictionFlux discovery;
- Manufacture fake reader engagement;
- Manipulate rankings or recommendations;
- Generate spam;
- Create fraudulent reviews or ratings;
- Circumvent creator payout or monetization systems;
- Flood the platform with substantially repetitive AI-generated content.
Circumvention
You may not attempt to bypass FireForge's technical safeguards or AI safety systems through:
- Prompt manipulation;
- Account cycling;
- Automated requests;
- Encoding or obfuscation;
- Other methods intended to defeat platform restrictions.
These rules apply whether the resulting content remains private or is subsequently published.
Publishing AI-assisted content
You are responsible for reviewing AI-assisted material before publishing it. This includes reviewing:
- AI-generated text;
- AI-generated images;
- AI-generated narration;
- AI translations;
- AI-assisted edits;
- Other AI Output incorporated into your work.
Before publishing, you should consider whether the resulting work:
- Accurately represents your intended story;
- Contains unintended material;
- Infringes another person's rights;
- Requires additional disclosure;
- Has an appropriate content rating;
- Meets applicable laws and publishing requirements.
FireForge does not guarantee that AI-assisted content is suitable for publication.
AI disclosure
FireForge may introduce disclosure or labeling requirements for AI-generated or AI-assisted content where required by law, app-store requirements, platform standards, or FireForge policy.
Where FireForge requires such disclosure, you agree to provide accurate information.
AI-generated covers, narration, and translation
Different forms of AI Output create different considerations.
AI-generated artwork
AI-generated artwork may resemble other generated artwork or, in some circumstances, existing visual material.
You are responsible for reviewing generated artwork before using it commercially or publishing it.
You should not deliberately prompt FireForge to reproduce another creator's protected artwork or imitate a living artist in a way intended to mislead others about the origin of the work.
AI narration
AI narration is generated using synthetic speech technology.
You may use narration generated through FireForge only in accordance with the rights granted through the applicable FireForge service and any restrictions associated with the selected voice.
You may not use FireForge's voice technology to impersonate a real person without appropriate authorization.
FireForge may restrict or remove voices where necessary for legal, contractual, safety, or product reasons.
AI translation
AI translations are generated automatically and may contain errors.
You are responsible for reviewing translations before commercial distribution where accuracy is important.
A translated version may also create intellectual-property or contractual considerations depending on the rights associated with the original work.
Model providers and your data
FireForge may rely on third-party AI providers to deliver particular AI features. Current or potential providers include:
- Anthropic — certain editorial and writing functionality;
- OpenAI — narration, text-to-speech, translation, and other enabled AI functionality;
- fal.ai — AI image generation and related functionality.
When you use a feature that relies on a third-party AI provider, the information necessary to perform that request may be transmitted to that provider.
For example, a chapter submitted for narration may need to be transmitted to the applicable text-to-speech provider, while a prompt submitted to Cover Studio may need to be transmitted to the applicable image-generation provider.
FireForge does not send all of your FireForge content to AI providers simply because you maintain an account.
Training and model development
FireForge does not use your private manuscripts or other private FireForge Content to train FireForge's own foundational AI models unless we separately disclose this and obtain any consent required by applicable law.
For third-party AI providers, FireForge selects provider configurations and contractual arrangements intended to limit the use of submitted content for model training where available and appropriate.
Because third-party providers, models, infrastructure, and contractual arrangements may change over time, we do not make a blanket guarantee that every provider will follow identical data-handling practices.
The applicable provider and data-processing information for FireForge features is governed by the Privacy Policy and relevant provider arrangements.
Accuracy, originality, and responsibility
AI systems generate probabilistic outputs. They do not guarantee truth, originality, or suitability. AI Output may:
- Contain factual errors;
- Misinterpret your instructions;
- Omit important information;
- Introduce unintended material;
- Produce repetitive or generic writing;
- Generate inaccurate translations;
- Produce incorrect editorial analysis;
- Resemble material generated elsewhere;
- Contain errors in narration or pronunciation;
- Produce unexpected visual results.
You should review AI Output before relying on it.
No professional advice
FireForge AI tools are not a substitute for:
- Legal advice;
- Medical advice;
- Financial advice;
- Tax advice;
- Professional publishing advice;
- Professional editorial judgment.
Do not rely on AI Output as professional advice.
Your creative judgment
FireForge is designed to support human creativity.
You remain responsible for deciding what belongs in your story, what gets published, and how AI-generated material is used.
Enforcement
FireForge may review, restrict, remove, or disable access to AI-generated or AI-assisted Content where reasonably necessary to:
- Enforce this policy;
- Protect users;
- Protect FireForge;
- Respond to legal requirements;
- Address intellectual-property complaints;
- Prevent fraud or abuse;
- Protect the integrity of the platform.
Where appropriate, enforcement may apply even when the Content has not been published.
Depending on the circumstances, enforcement may include:
- Removing Content;
- Restricting a particular AI feature;
- Suspending AI-credit access;
- Limiting an account;
- Suspending an account;
- Terminating an account.
Where FireForge provides an appeal process, you may request a review of an enforcement decision.
If you believe content was incorrectly restricted or removed, please contact us.
